Kentucky Speedway

Kentucky Speedway, the newest member of Speedway Motorsport Inc., is located in Sparta, Kentucky and is just a short day trip from Cincinnati, Louisville and Lexington and also is easily accessible from major cities such as Indianapolis, Pittsburgh, Nashville and Knoxville. The tri-oval track is 1.5 mile long, is seventy foot wide with a twelve foot apron and is well known for creating spectacular finishes in NASCAR racing. The track has banking of 14° in the turns, 4° in the straightaways, 8° in the short chute Turn 4-Finish, 8° in the Start-Turn 1, 10° apex of tri-oval at Start/Finish. The graduated fourteen degree banking between the exit of turn four and the start/finish line demands expert navigation and drivers who successfully do so are generally in a primary position to take the chequered flag. After saying that seasoned drivers say that little unexpected bumps in the track that are constantly changing can make navigating tough and because of its inconsistent surface every ride on the speedway seems different from the last. The facility is built on 820 acres of land and offers fans spacious reserved and in-field campsites and an extended seating capacity of around 117,000 grandstand seats. The facility also features a paved quarter-mile track. Construction began in July 1998 and before it had even opened, the speedway was repaved after bumps and wrinkles showed up on the track after the winter. The speedway opened in June 2000, and its first major event was a NASCAR Craftsman Truck race. Kentucky Speedway has hosted IndyCar Series racing since 2000 and was the site of the second-fastest IndyCar Series in 2003. It is also known as one of the most competitive in series history. On the 9th of July 2011 fans will have a unique opportunity to experience a bit of NASCAR history when the facility will host its inaugural NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race. The address of the facility is Kentucky Speedway, 1 Speedway Drive, Sparta, Kentucky 41086.

Kansas Speedway is a comparatively new speedway since it only opened in 2001 after the International Speedway Corporation (ISC) decided it would be beneficial to racing fans and the racing world to have a racing facility in the mid west.

The construction was started in May 1999 and after tickets went on sale in July 1999 through the sale of the Founding Fan P.A.S.S. (Preferred Access Speedway Seating). that allows fans to lock-in the best seat locations at the track as well as acquire benefits otherwise not available to the general public. All of the 32 luxury suites planned for the facility were sold out in just one day so the ISC Board of Directors gave their approval for an additional 36 suites which expanded the capacity to just under 82,000.

The track is a 1.5 mile D shaped tri-oval with an asphalt surface and is purposely built for stock car racing. The turns have 15 degree banking with the front stretch 10.4 degree banking and the back stretch 5 degrees banking. The track is host to three major NASCAR events that include the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, the NASCAR Nationwide Series and the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. The site has been developed continuously over the years including additional seating of 3100 between 2003 and 2005, a movie theatre, outdoor shopping mall and hotels and in 2012 the facility will open the Penn National Gaming Hollywood Hotel and Casino that will overlook turn two. The facility is located at Kansas Speedway, 400 Speedway Boulevard, Kansas City, KS 66111.
