Wayne's 1967 Splitscreen VW

1966 21 window Samba Deluxe

It came into the uk in 2002 and was a Austrian minibus, its had 2 owners before Wayne got it last year.

He left it ratty looking for last season then in September 2004 it was stripped down to bear shell and sandblasted back to bear metal. It has taken 6 months to restore it and was finished on the thursday before volksworld show.

The engine at the moment is a standard single port 1500cc which has had new vales, pistons and barrels, but he has got other ideas for a bigger lump and IRSing it later on this year.
The interior was all made by a trimmer in their yard.

The stereo system consists of Alpine 9833r head unit, 2 x 400w rms crossfire amps (front & rear), 1 x 600w rms mono crossfire amp to run the 12" subs, all speakers are cerwin vega. They created a sound test with amps on minimum at full volume and it read 101.7db, he is looking forward to turning them up once he has run the speakers in.
